Chapter 52: Spatial
In the practice room, Fang was experimenting with various targets when the door opened once more.
At this time, the servants in the tower wouldn’t come to disturb him, so the only person it could be was Valeria. However, he was puzzled— it hadn’t been that long, and it seemed that she and Yume had a lot to discuss.
Perhaps she had to leave early?
His thoughts came to a halt as the person walking in wasn’t Valeria at all.
Yume!
Seeing Fang’s surprised expression, Yume stepped forward with a proud grin. “Hello! It turns out that instead of Valeria, I’ll be your trainer for today!”
Her assertive demeanor took Fang by surprise. He quickly lowered his gaze from her prominent presence. “I’ll be fine on my own today.”
Yume frowned. “Why, are you afraid of losing?”
“Certainly not…” Fang replied, though he had no real desire to face her. After all, Yume had defeated Vincent’s father with a single blow, and he felt no chance of withstanding a single attack from her.
“Then tell me why.”
Fang hesitated before explaining, “Well, senior, you’re part of the judging committee from the country’s headquarters, but I’m just a regular person from a small city. I feel a bit anxious.”

Unexpectedly, Yume burst into laughter. “It seems you’re really shy and adorable! But I’ve already told you, I’m not part of the judging committee right now. Besides, Valeria is quite close to you, and a friend of hers is a friend of mine.” She paused. “Honestly, I’m very curious about how you defeated William. If I went back now, I’d probably have trouble sleeping. Do you want me to stay up all night and look miserable with bags under my eyes?”
“That…” Fang’s voice trailed off.
Yume waggled a finger at him. “So, why don’t you show me how strong you are?”
Unable to think of a response, Fang released his energy, promoting himself to the 4th intermediate level. A ball of energy shot towards her.
In response, Yume released her energy to the 3rd-grade intermediate level. Her energy was a shade of light grey.
A cube materialized in her hands and spun to meet the colorless energy in the air.
*Hiss!*
Fang’s energy vanished upon collision, while the cube drastically shrank in size.
Seeing the results, Fang was slightly shocked. William, who was several levels above him, couldn’t win in a direct comparison of their energies. Yet, Yume’s energy, though a level lower, had managed to break through.
On the other side, Yume was also surprised. The defining attribute of the spatial element was control, exerting dominance over space. Although it wasn’t particularly powerful, its ability to consistently overcome other types was unparalleled. Yet Fang’s blast had depleted it significantly.

Even as the cube decreased in size, it continued to accelerate towards Fang. With his experience, Fang didn’t just stand there admiring the energy’s persistence—he quickly knelt and flashed a short distance, firing a blast of energy before disappearing and sending another blast.
*V Shadow Step!*
Yume’s eyes lit up with interest; she knew this technique was incredibly difficult to perform if the element assisting the movement wasn’t wind.
As with his match against William, Fang didn’t stop there. He rushed toward Yume and kicked his foot in a precise, wide arc.
*Clink!*
A small grey shield appeared on Yume’s arm, completely nullifying his kick. Regardless of how talented Fang was, there was no way he could break through that durable energy. Yet he didn’t relent with the single kick. With a swift turn, he executed another arc, only to be blocked again.
Rapidly, bursts of light filled the room as the two clashed.
By then, Yume had a clear understanding of Fang’s current strength.
She thought to herself: *What monstrous talent! Not only is he a 4th-grade intermediate, but his techniques are also honed to an eerie perfection. Even the higher difficulty skills, like Shadow Step, are flawlessly executed, with impeccable timing and skill chaining. It’s frightening how much he’s improved in such a short time.*
However, this level of talent shouldn’t have been enough to easily defeat William. Was William simply not performing well?
Yume came to a stop.
Seeing the opportunity, Fang also stopped, and energy began to condense around him.
Yume’s eyes narrowed—did he have a stronger attack in mind?
A sphere of energy rose above Fang’s head, then a second, a third…
In moments, Fang had filled the air with numerous spheres. Seconds later, they accelerated toward Yume.
The air heated up as the spheres collided with a large barrier.
Explosively, the spheres tore through the barrier, and the barrier collapsed under the onslaught.
Instantly, Yume’s energy grew brighter and brighter.
Another barrier formed, but as soon as it appeared, it was battered to the point where a single poke would bring it down.
Even as the small meteors ended, the attack wasn’t over. An overwhelming mass of energy started crashing through the barrier.
Yet, even that came to an abrupt end as a grey box enveloped the energy, diminishing it to nothing.
The Meteor Shower was far stronger than Yume had anticipated. She had to increase her energy level by several stages and employ a green-stage technique to counter it. This technique, which she had previously deemed not worth the effort, was now something she had to use against Fang.
No wonder William had been defeated by him!
Never would she have expected that the unknown youth she had scouted for Valeria could be this extraordinarily talented!
