Chapter 31: Mind Reading
*POV: Autumn*
Unlike last time, where I just popped up out of nowhere, I need to make sure Rymes knows I’m arriving this time. Or do I? I could always give him a little scare. But if he reacts like Diablo did, I might end up needing a change of clothes. Honestly, I’m not the best at handling sudden attacks.
And yes, I hear you thinking, "Can’t you just toughen up your mindset?" Sure, I could, but right now, I’m feeling pretty lazy. If Rymes decides to attack, I’ll probably have to beef up my mental defenses. But I don’t want to overthink this. I just need to get this visit done.
Okay, enough dithering. Time to head over to God King Rymes.
I open a crack in space and step through into the Realm of Gods and Demons. As I emerge, I see Rymes already staring at the crack, his expression a curious mix of shock and satisfaction. It’s as if he half-expected my arrival but wasn’t entirely sure.
“So… you’re that woman, huh?” he says, eyeing me with a mix of intrigue and cautious respect.
“That woman?” Really? That’s all you’ve got? I was hoping for something a bit more dramatic. But at least he’s not falling over himself to worship me like Diablo did.
“Yeah, I’m that woman, God King Rymes.”
Rymes lets out a long, weary sigh. “*Sigh*... Would you like to sit down and chat?”
“Sure, why not?” I respond, deciding to take him up on his offer.
I look around and notice the surroundings are much cozier than I expected. The room is decorated like an old-fashioned cottage—wooden floors, plastered walls, and torches flickering softly on stone pillars. It’s surprisingly inviting, and I can’t help but feel a bit at ease.

“I’m sure you have some questions you’d like answered, if I’m not mistaken?” Rymes says, gesturing toward a comfy-looking chair.
“I do, actually. If it wouldn’t trouble you—”
“No, yes, and yes,” he interrupts smoothly.
“Huh? But I haven’t even asked yet.”
“You were going to ask if I hate the Gods and Demons, if I created them, and whether I planted the seed of hatred in their souls.”
Wow, he’s sharp. It’s almost like he can read my mind. Not that it’s a new trick—Diablo was the same, but I was too stunned by his reaction to notice. Right now, I’m feeling pretty omnipotent. It’s almost amusing.
“Uh, yeah… I mean, that’s right,” I say, trying to maintain my composure.
Rymes looks momentarily bewildered, his eyes widening slightly. It’s kind of cute, in a way. But his surprise quickly turns into an expression of controlled calm. Impressive. He’s clearly good at managing his emotions.
“Anything else you want to ask, Rymes?” I prompt, eager to move on.
“I do have one more question,” he says, taking a deep breath. “Since you created the Gods and Demons, I’m assuming you’ve created other intelligent beings as well?”

Well, that’s a curveball. If I tell him the truth, it might reveal a future plan I’ve got in the works. And no, I’m not giving away any spoilers. It’s something that could shake things up in interesting ways.
So, I decide to craft a little white lie.
“No, I haven’t. I’ve thought about it, but it’s mentally exhausting. Creating the Gods and Demons alone made me sleep for 400,000 years.”
There. A blend of truth and fiction. I think it should suffice.
“Well, if there’s nothing else, I should get some rest. My head’s still really tired,” I say, stretching and yawning for effect.
Before he can respond, I open another crack in space and step through. As I leave, I catch a glimpse of Rymes looking up at the empty space with a look of surprise and a hint of confusion.
I step into the void, feeling a sense of relief mixed with a bit of amusement. Rymes seemed more composed than Diablo, but it was still a fun interaction. I guess every world has its quirks, and Rymes’s calm demeanor was a nice change of pace.
Now, onto the next world. There’s still a lot of exploring to do, and I’m curious to see what comes next.
As I float through the crack in space, I can’t help but think about how each encounter adds a new layer to this grand tapestry of existence. It’s all a bit of a cosmic dance, and I’m just one of the dancers, moving from one step to the next, discovering new and unexpected twists in the journey.
And who knows? Maybe my next stop will bring even more surprises. For now, I’ll enjoy the ride and see where it takes me.
